1. This is where I am at with the
overall building. You can click on the image for
a bigger picture. Any
suggestions??
Tim:
Why do you have a door along the south wall? I think the roof over
Room XII may not have been vaulted (as you have shown it), but there
must have been some slope. Jayni may be able to tell you something
about the decoration of the roofline--which would add some articulation
to it.
Fikret:
Jayni:
The roof
would have been articulated with terracotta antefixes, I'd say nearly
every 4-5 roof tiles apart, all along the roof line. Under that would
have been some terracotta molding (egg and dart), roughly 10 cm. in
height.
2. This is showing the east wall of the bath.
Tim:
Do we really think there were no more windows on the east side? It
looks awfully plain.
Fikret:
Jayni:
Building still
looks too tall.
3. This is at the northeast corner of the bath.
How would the windows look at this location.
Tim:
It's hard for me to think there were no more windows here. Also, you
probably should make some indication that we think there were further
rooms of the Bath on the northeast--perhaps showing partial walls
there.
Fikret:
Jayni:
I cannot
believe that the walls were that high!
4. This is the soutwest corner of the bath.
Any suggestions on windows?
Tim:
I don't know. I would certainly have built widows along the west wall
of Room XIII. But Fikret will have to say.
Fikret:
Jayni:
I'd propose a row of those smaller rectangular windows along the upper
wall of XIII, above the roof of XIV.
